Country Hills Montessori's Mission is to Value Children's Independence.

At Country Hills Montessori, our children learn that their independence is valued. We encourage free movement, choice within carefully crafted limits, and make sure they know their voices are heard. As children get older, they begin to learn about time management. We teach them practical life skills, such as cleaning and preparing food, that can be used in the classroom, home, and beyond. This emphasis on independence gives children a tremendous sense of empowerment.

We Meet Children Where They Are

We allow each child to move and learn at their own pace. We know that learning is not linear, and that children are not ready to learn specific skills according to an adult-prepared timeline, or in perfect harmony with their peers. Kids who need more support with certain skills get that support, and those who are ready to move ahead are able to find the challenges they crave.

“My wife and I pursue Montessori education with our little ones at home, so we looked at a number of Montessori schools. For the most part, we saw a lot of hybrid daycare/Montessori schools that were very disappointing. A few schools that we found were true Montessori schools, such as Country Hills.

We chose this school from the other true Montessori schools (which is not too close from our house) because we liked the way the school is run by administration and staff. It reminded me of the way parochial schools were run when I was growing up.

The principal/owner is very involved with the teachers, assistants, and regimen, so the curriculum always remains tight and stimulating. The teachers and assistants are very nurturing to the children, yet emphasize independence and good foundational habits.

As far as the work and curriculum, it was exactly what a Montessori school should be providing for their students, so that was a “must” before we even enrolled.”

“To let the child do as he likes when he has not yet developed any powers of control is to betray the idea of freedom.” -Maria Montessori

Maria Montessori based her entire educational philosophy on the idea that children developed through a series of four planes. Each of these planes is easy to recognize and has clear, defining characteristics. If we study and understand these stages, we can approach our interactions with children with a new perspective.

If you think your child would thrive in a Montessori environment, give us a call or contact us. We would love for you to visit our school and learn more.
